The Monroe County Public Library provides opportunities for local residents to read, learn, connect and create. The downtown library is located on E. Introduction to painting and playing Warhammer Mini

Dine in the Southern Stone Library
Prepare for a taste journey inspired by Southern Midwest and Southern cuisine at Southern Stone. Stop by Saturdays from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm or Tuesdays from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm and Southern Stone will donate 20% of your bill to the Friends of the Library to help support library programs. Exchange of indoor plants in summer
Do you have a houseplant you want to trade or cuttings you want to share? Bring them along, meet other plant lovers and find a new plant for your home. Don’t have a plant to trade? No problem! The library will have extras to share. All plants should be healthy, labeled (if possible) and can be in soil or rooted cuttings in water. Please only bring pots that you are willing to part with. Read to a dog
Registered Therapy Dogs listen to your child read to them, help develop reading skills, and encourage a regular habit of reading for fun. This is great for readers of all abilities, but especially helpful for reluctant or struggling readers. Ages 5-12. It’s Sunday 2-3:30 p.m. in the children’s program room of the inner city library. Video Game Discussion Group: “Gone Home”
You love video games and want to talk about it with others? Join the library as they discuss Gone Home and talk about game design, stories, art and everything else. It’s like a book club but with video games! The game will be available to play each month on the second floor of the downtown library near the video game collection.
