ADRIAN — The unsung heroes of our homes, our dogs, will be celebrated in downtown Adrian during the August edition of First Fridays, scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today. The first Fridays for today are themed “Summer Dog Days”.

As Adrian “goes to the dogs,” there are related events like a pet parade, group photos, contests, and multiple chances to win. While events don’t start until around 5:30 p.m. on the first Friday, several streets in the city center will be closed from 2:30 p.m., Adrian said in a press release. The roads are expected to reopen to motorists around 11 p.m

The following streets and parking lots are to be closed to the public:

  • West Maumee Street, from North Broad to North Winter Street.
  • North Main Street, from East Church to East Front Street.
  • Washburn Street, half a block from North Main Street.
  • Toledo Street, half a block from North Main Street.
  • Toledo Street Pavilion car park.
  • Partial closure of Winter Street parking lot behind Citizens Gas.
