Things to know about the 2022 Ohio State Fair | Pro Club Bd

The fair has not been open to the public since 2019.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State Fair is back for the first time since 2019! The fair, which runs from July 27 to August 7, has not been open to the public since the pandemic began.

Everything you need to know about the fair, from parking to rides and attractions, can be read below.

  • $10 – adults 13-59
  • $8 – Seniors 60+
  • $8 – Youth 6-12
  • Free – children under 5 years
  • $30 – All Day Bracelet
  • $1 Credit – Show attendees can purchase individual ride credits for $1. All rides require three or more credits
  • Monday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9am – 9pm, except Sunday 7th August when the admission gates close at 6pm

General parking is free for attendees in the main lots just north of the Cardinal’s Gate. Reserved parking spaces are not available for purchase by the general public.

Telhio and Ronald McDonald House Charities Day – Bring one of the following “Wish List” items per person to a stand outside the gates before 6:00pm to receive a voucher for a free BOGO entry ticket: Ziplock plastic bags, Garbage bags ( kitchen or 60 gallons), aluminum foil, plastic wrap, ready meals (individual mac and cheese cups, pre-cooked rice, soups, etc.) or canned foods (protein desired). All donations benefit the families of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio.

WOSU Kids Day from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Join WOSU Public Media in Central Park to meet some of your favorite PBS KIDS® characters only on July 28th! Designed to entertain the whole family, the event will feature PBS KIDS® crafts, painting, educational activities and games. Check out the PBS KIDS® characters throughout the day for photo opportunities:

Molina Healthcare Day – Molina Healthcare cares for communities in Ohio! Molina offers Medicaid members additional services and benefits so they can take better care of members’ health. Check out Molina Healthcare’s activities in Central Park to learn more.

Buckeye Health Plan Day – Visit Buckeye at Cardinal Gate for fun giveaways, health screenings and information on Buckeye Day, Sunday July 31st. Join us between 10am and 4pm to win a prize! Bring kids to our Fitness Challenge on the Main Street Stage from 11:30am – 12:30pm. You have a chance to win a bike! Buckeye Health Plan is transforming the health of the community, one person at a time, through affordable and reliable healthcare.

Veterans & Military Day – Veterans and active military personnel are honored on this day. Additionally, today (and every day of the Ohio State Fair), active duty military and veterans get free admission with ID.

Family Discount Day – Until 6:00 p.m., adults receive child admission of $8, and children 12 and under are admitted free. If you buy a wristband, a second driver with a valid buddy pass can travel with you free of charge until 6 p.m. After 6:00 p.m., all drivers will need either a wristband or vouchers to drive.

Seniors’ Day – Seniors 60+ enjoy free entry all day, August 2nd only! In addition, all show attendees are invited to enjoy the free The Drifters concert presented by AARP Ohio at the WCOL Celeste Center at 1:00 p.m

Sensory-Friendly Morning, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – We turned down the lights and volume to make the Ohio State Fair more sensory-friendly in partnership with OCALI. Ride the rides without flashing lights or music, check out the fair’s many educational and sensory activities, pause in a quiet room, or use our sensory accessibility guide to find a fair opportunity that’s right for you . Print out social narratives, a first-then board, wait cards and a permit to park in a designated area on the OCALI website at or by scanning the QR code below.

Recovery Ohio’s Mental Health Day

Governor DeWine created the RecoveryOhio initiative to coordinate the work of state departments, boards and commissions by leveraging Ohio’s existing resources and exploring new opportunities related to substance use and mental health. On August 5, behavioral health resources will be available at state agency booths throughout the show to identify support services for people in recovery and their families.

Donate Life Ohio is dedicated to educating Ohioans about the need for organ, eye and tissue donation and motivating them to join the Ohio Donor Registry. Say Yes!” to donate organs and be sure to stop by the Donate Life Ohio booth to learn more.

  • SkyGlider: One of the world’s longest portable sky rides is right in your backyard at the Ohio State Fair. Hop on at any of the access points in Kiddieland or near the Cardinal’s Gate and enjoy a leisurely half-mile ride across the fairgrounds. The SkyGlider does not take tickets and does not use the Midway Ride All-Day wristband. Tickets for this attraction cost $3 per driver one-way.
  • Giant Slide: Grab a burlap sack, climb the 105 steps, and take a thrilling ride down this 144-foot slide!
  • Mountain Dew Midway: More than 50 rides from Ferris wheels to free fall drops will twist, turn, tumble, spin, shock and delight show-goers!
  • Kiddieland: Parents and children can enjoy a visit to Kiddieland, which features fun rides specially designed for children and their families, including mini roller coasters, a children’s carousel, and bumper boats.

Fares and where to buy tickets

  • $30 – All Day Bracelet
  • $1 Credit – Show attendees can purchase individual ride credits for $1 each. All rides require 3 or more credits.
  • At the show, RFID-enabled wristbands and RFID cards can be purchased with cash or credit cards at Magic Money kiosks.

All Ohio State Fair rides and games are cashless. Instead, rechargeable RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Magic Money cards or wristbands are scanned with every ride or game.

  • What is magic money? Magic Money is Talley Amusements’ state-of-the-art RFID-based digital ticketing system.
  • Where can I top up my Magic Money? Top up your Magic Money cards or bracelets with cash or credit at one of the hundred on-site outlets. Look for a kiosk that says “Magic Money.”
  • Where can I use Magic Money? Magic Money is accepted on rides and games at Kiddieland and the Mountain Dew Midway.
  • Do games still take cash? No, all games are cashless from this year; They only accept Magic Money.
