Senior Docket for July 24 | West | Pro Club Bd

WEST

The Westerly Senior Center is located at 39 State St., Westerly. Center hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Staff are available Monday through Friday at 401-596-2404.

The dine-in option for food service has returned. Takeaway lunches are still available if you come through the door from the car park into the centre. Call 401-596-7216 or sign the clipboard outside the downtown food office by Thursday to order either option. A $3 donation is requested.

Dine in the lunch menu:

PAWCATUCK

Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, 27 Chase St., Pawcatuck.

The Senior Transportation Program provides free door-to-door transportation Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:00pm for residents of Stonington, Mystic, Westerly and North Stonington who are 55 years of age or older. The program uses a bus with a disabled elevator. Call 860-599-3285, ext. 102 to schedule a ride 48 hours in advance.

Heating and utility support, pantry and basic necessities are available Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. free of charge

Books can be borrowed from the PNC library from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m

The PNC Thrift Shop is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The store is looking for volunteers for Saturday work.

Lunch served daily at 11:00 am for the senior center community. $3 donation or free.

CHARLESTOWN

Charlestown Seniors/Community Center, Country Trail, Ninigret Park, 401-364-9955. The center’s opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Friday 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m

Staff are on site to provide telephone support to seniors in the community who have questions, concerns, or are looking for news of any kind. Masks are currently mandatory for everyone in the senior center.

Podiatrist Tina McDonald will be at the center Tuesday, August 23 to offer 20-minute podiatry appointments for $45. Appointments must be made by Friday, August 19th. Call 401-364-9955 to make an appointment or schedule one in person through the office.

Lunch is served Monday through Friday midday in the center’s Parkside Dining Room. Takeaway lunch options are also available offsite. Reservations must be made by noon, two days in advance, by calling 401-364-6998.
