It’s no secret that Etsy now has some of the coolest products from creatives around the world. Over the years it has grown from a small e-commerce site for artisans selling their work to a massive online art marketplace. A place where you’re sure to find all the things you didn’t know you needed – and then some.
Since 2019, Etsy has honored its global community of creators with the Design Awards, also known as the Etsys. The judges tasked with determining this year’s nominees include celebrity fashion designer Jenna Lyons, interior designers Brigette Romanek and Jake Arnold, and Etsy trend expert Dayna Isom Johnson. Over the course of several weeks, the group screened thousands of applicants looking for designs with the wow factor.
“It’s really gotten a lot more polished,” says Jenna. “There really is unbelievable craftsmanship coming out of it. Not just something to put on your table for a holiday dinner, but someone who will actually make the table, or a beautiful chair, or an incredible lamp. It has really moved away from smaller, individual items and expanded into things that can accessorize your entire home or lifestyle.”
After careful deliberation, the jury selected 100 finalists in 10 categories (home decoration and lighting, kitchen and food, clothing and accessories, etc.). According to Brigette, the group looked for pieces (and works) with originality, thoughtfulness, functionality, and aesthetically pleasing looks.
“The Etsy Design Awards bring to light the most incredible and creative talent in our community,” says Dayna. “With millions of items to discover on Etsy’s marketplace, these awards bring forth items that may not yet have been discovered and introduce these incredibly skilled makers and curators to buyers around the world.”
Today the winners were officially announced. Scroll down to learn about 10 of our favorites.
