Technology and art merge to create an immersive and interactive exhibition

BREA, California., August 4, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — ViewSonic Corp., a global leader in visual solutions, is partnering with the Taiwan Women’s Art Association (TWAA) to create immersive art experiences at Love and Hope – 2022 World Women’s Art Festival. With continuous efforts to encourage creativity, ViewSonic offers state-of-the-art projectors, touch displays and large-scale interactive displays to enhance the exhibition experience. Visitors can immerse and interact with a total of 98 artworks by 70 female artists that demonstrate the strength and resilience of women.

“We are excited to be part of this collaboration and provide artists with our visual solutions to create more diverse works of art. ViewSonic is committed to inspiring the world to see the difference between the ordinary and the extraordinary,” he said Steven Yu, Senior Global Marketing Director at ViewSonic. “Through this partnership, we have not only been able to support the arts and the fight for gender equality, but we have also been able to break down barriers and spread love and hope around the world.”

“Since TWAA was founded in 2000, we have had the concept of U.S. women as a collective entity to study history more closely,” said Jun T Lai, chairperson of the TWAA and main organizer of the festival. “The 2022 World Women’s Art Festival reflects our beliefs. Through the power of contemporary female artworks in Taiwan and conversations between art women groups around the world, we’ve been able to create momentum in the post-pandemic era for people to start a new chapter in their lives.”

In the exhibition, ViewSonic’s projectors use interlaced lights and shadows to immerse visitors in the artworks. For example, “The hot zone through Cynthia Lin is projected onto a wall to show the gradual breakdown of brain cells in a person with Alzheimer’s disease during ‘Forest of Enchantress’ by Xiao Hua Dou portrays a woman’s inner self and expresses her love and reverence for life.

In addition, the interactive 65-inch ViewBoard display from ViewSonic and a 24-inch touch display were placed in the rest area. Visitors can interact with the displays to learn more about the arts festival and the concepts behind the exhibition.

The exhibition also showed the works of art by renowned artists. Created by Mali Wu, Taiwan’s “Awake in Your Skin: Bedsheets of Soul,” first female winner of the National Award for Arts, is a red, heart-shaped textile installation. The behind-the-scenes documentary is projected in parallel to articulate how the comfort of using a bed sheet contrasts with the tenacity invested in the creation of a bed sheet, underscoring the tenacity of a woman’s femininity.

“Combined with the projection technology and the use of textiles, a familiar medium, the artwork reflects the complexity of a woman. explained Ms. Wu.

Dedicated to creating new media art, artist Chu Yin Chen has won various digital art awards in Europe. Her work “Enactive Painting” uses ViewSonic’s laser projectors to create an interactive wall. By waving and moving their bodies, visitors can create images on the projection, creating a truly interactive experience.

“By using sensor technology to recognize human gestures, visitors are invited to collaborate with the artwork. The advanced sensor technology registers body movements and transmits them to the projection,” said Ms. Chen. “To create a more dynamic and immersive experience, traditional colors used by aborigines for weaving are also incorporated to create vibrant strokes.”

Another artwork, “Wang-Shih’s Memories” by the artist Chun Chenuses projectors to deliver a large-scale blank background, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in Wang-Shih’s story and have a better chance of understanding her life.
