RUSSIAN GALLERY PLAYS BOTH SIDES

“Of course I didn’t say she was nothing,” he said. “I told her I respect her completely. I canceled the deal and she was so mad. She pressured me to pay for the piece. It was so intrusive. I buy so much art. I buy something almost every day. Of course I wanted to pay for it, but she made a whole thing out of it.”
Oxoa, who believes another dealer alerted Abillama to her message to the NADA Noodle, is now directing her ire at this as yet unidentified party.
“I have a bill that hasn’t been paid since May and a duty to my artists,” she said. “I reached out to this trusted group for guidance on what to do next. And then my phone rang with a very angry man. Why would any of you do that?”
NADA did not respond to Wet Paint’s request for comment.
